Building Skills Academy offers you friendly, welcoming and expert tuition and DIY courses in a wide range of skills: whether you're a seasoned pro or a keen amateur!

Whether you're looking for a great start for a new career, or to develop the building skills you need for DIY and home maintenance, you can choose from a wide selection of courses including Kitchen Fitting courses, Plastering courses, Tiling courses, Carpentry courses, Plumbing courses, or Bricklaying courses.

If you're looking for more of a challenge or need to gain a range of skills to carry out your renovation or home DIY work then you may want to consider attending our Handyman Multiskills Course.       

Most of our courses can be taken over a five day period during the week; or for those of you with less time, several of our building skills courses can also be taken at the weekend - Please see our individual course pages for further details.

You can be assured that we will offer you the highest level of training in which ever trade skills course you choose: our instructors are predominantly “time served” building industry personnel and all have teaching experience in their building skills course areas that they instruct.

As an ethical building skills training centre we will not offer or promise you overnight craftsmanship, we know from our own experience, that the skills required to become a ‘professional' within the building industry take many years and much hard work to acquire.

What we will offer and promise you though is the chance to gain the underpinning and basic knowledge of the trade that you've chosen to train in:

• For our DIY and home renovation students this means that we can offer you the chance to gain the confidence and training required to successfully carry out your project

• All prices include VAT, refreshments, comprehensive notes and a laminated course certificate
• Courses are held Monday to Friday except where stated
• Course times are 09.00am to 4.30pm - Monday Book in at 08.30am start at 9.00am.
• Accommodation can be recommended and booked for those travelling longer distances.Safety footwear MUST be worn for all courses
