Our Kitchen Fitting Course is an intensive, 5 day, hands-on programme that is specifically designed to provide you with all the skills and knowledge you need to plan, measure, layout and fit base units, through to the fitting of worktops, plinths, cornice, sinks, hobs and extractor fan hoods.

In addition, it also covers a comprehensive range of subjects that are essential to any kitchen fitter training to start their career, or for the DIY enthusiast who wants to ensure that their investment is turned into a dream kitchen.

Areas covered by the kitchen fitting training course include: 

  • Safe use and management of tools, including power tools and laser levels
  • Measuring and planning typical layouts, dealing with corners and uneven walls
  • Planning for electric sockets, water pipes, appliances and extractor fans
  • Installing base and wall units including scribing and cutting to meet uneven walls
  • Measuring, setting up and cutting using worktop templates (jig) and routers
  • Cutting out sink and hob recesses, mitre joints and fitting plinths & pelmets
  • Snagging and completion of kitchen including fitting and levelling doors
  • Summary of basic legislation associated with plumbing, electrics and gas in the kitchen

Whether you are a complete novice or an improving beginner, our kitchen fitting course will teach you everything you need to know from initial planning and design, to health and safety, installing services, the correct use of tools and of course, the final installation and finishing of the kitchen units and appliances.

Kitchen and Bathroom Fitter

Kitchen and Bathroom fitters assemble and install kitchens and bathrooms in homes and businesses.  They fit cupboards, worktops, appliances, flooring and fittings when working on kitchen installations.  In bathrooms they install baths, shower units, wash hand basins, toilets and storage cabinets.  As a kitchen and bathroom fitter, your work would include:

* Measuring out work areas in line with layout and design plans

* Ripping out and disposing of old units and suites

* Marking the location of hidden pipes and cables, filling in small cracks and levelling   walls and floors

* Relocating sockets and plumbing points where necessary

* Assembling cabinets, base units, wall units and producing infills

* Measuring and cutting worktops, recesses and joints

* Fitting units and appliances, tiling walls and laying flooring

* Cleaning away debris and cleaning all units and worktops at the end of the job
